Menstrual Hygiene Project

The program was initiated in 2019 and endeavours to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene in communities Chhoti Si Asha works with.

As part of the program, students of Ashoka University’s Experiential Learning (ELM) Module working along with support staff of Chhoti Si Asha prepared a comprehensive training manual on menstrual hygiene management. They also conducted several workshops in schools and village colonies in Janta Colony.

The purpose of the program is to educate women on choices of hygiene pads and other options available to them. The program also endeavours to break societal boundaries and hesitation in discussing menstrual hygiene, such that these issues may be discussed with not just adolescent girls, but also with young boys.

Findings of a survey conducted in late 2019 are available for download here.
