At Chhoti Si Asha, every product carries a journey. But if there’s one creation that has shaped our story as much as we shaped it, it’s our laptop and iPad sleeves.

𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘯

The first sleeve was born through a collaboration with The Initiative by Arushi Agarwal. Arushi came to us with patchwork Kantha sheets and a request to turn them into something functional. Among the designs she proposed was a horizontal laptop sleeve. Arushi was a stickler for detail—every stitch, every inch of quilting, every layer of cushioning had to be perfect. Multiple women from our Anubhav team worked on prototypes for months until we achieved a sleeve that balanced strength with elegance.

Not long after, a customer—a young architect—asked for a portrait-style sleeve with a flap. That request led to the vertical sleeve. Another volunteer wanted something closer to a traditional leather sleeve, but made entirely of fabric—with pockets, a handle, and extra features. That’s how the Sahiba/Munna sleeve was born. Each version grew out of real needs, and each design carried the thumbprint of collaboration.

As our clusters expanded, we infused handwork into the sleeves to ensure every artisan had work:

Kantha stitches when our Kantha team formed.

Phulkari charms when our Phulkari cluster completed training.

Pockets and add-ons suggested by our own team—because some of us kept losing phones and chargers in cafés!

Every iteration came from lived experience. These sleeves are not just accessories; they are companions designed to be practical, sturdy, and beautiful.

         

𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴

Our sleeves became our fastest-selling product and opened doors to bulk orders.



One of the turning points was an order of 6,000 rainbow laptop sleeves with leather handles for Parexel International. To deliver, we piloted our Sakhi peer-to-peer training model, where each artisan trained 1–5 newwomen in quilting. Through this, 56 new women were trained, many of whom later joined our Sargam team. That order became a festival of work, pride, and confidence at our workshop—and it gave us the belief that we could handle scale without losing soul.

         

Since then, we’ve crafted 10,000+ laptop and iPad sleeves for corporates, institutions, and individuals across the world. Each bulk order directly supports the Anubhav team and creates opportunities for more women to step into livelihoods.
